The 1502 edition of Thucydides is the first Greek edition of the fifth century B.C. historian of the Peloponnesian War. Though Thucydides had been known for half a century through Lorenzo Valla's Latin translation, completed between 1448 and 1452, the Aldine edition introduced Renaissance humanists to Thucydides in his original tongue.
