Mark Pollei began his post-graduate studies in Rare Book Conservation at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts after graduating from Brigham Young University with a BA in Art History in 1992.

He has worked as a Rare Book Conservator at the Houghton Library, at Harvard University, and completed an advanced rare book conservation internship at the Library of Congress in 1996.

Presently, he is the Department Chair of the Rare Book Conservation Laboratory at the Harold B. Lee Library, Brigham Young University.
